On the occasion of May 9 - Victory Day, earlier this year, and after five years of preparations and extensive research, a monument was unveiled with the names of the Jews of Novi Sad who died in the resistance against fascism in 1941-1945. It is located in the courtyard of the Novi Sad synagogue as a witness that members of the Novi Sad Jewish community were participants in the resistance.

The initiative to erect the monument came from Pavle Katić, a survivor of the Dachau concentrationcamp and a long-time member of the International Dachau Committee.

He invested enormous effort and a lot of time to collect data by consulting the archives. The result of that work is a beautiful printed edition in Serbian translated into English. The monument and edition are the only public material evidence and recognition of those heroes.
