The International Dachau Committee invites you to celebrate the 79th commemoration of the liberation of Dachau.

 

 

Events:

 

Friday May 3

 

 

 

at- 5:00 pm: Laying of memorial wreaths at the Leitenberg

 

at- 6:00 pm: Laying of memorial wreaths at the Waldfriethof, Dachau-Etzenhausen

 

 

Saturday May 4

 

at- 3:00 pm: Laying a wreath at International Monument (Memorial site Dachau)

 

at- 4:00 pm The Hour of Commemoration at the memorial site of the former SS Shooting Range in Hebertshausen.

 

at- 6:00 pm: Memorial Service organized by the Supporters of the Death March Memorial Dachau, in remembrance for the Death Marches. Takes place at the Bronze Statue by Hubertus von Pilgrim, Theodor-Heuss-Strasse/ Corner Sudetenlandstrasse.

 

 

Sunday May 5

Dominique Boueilh, President of the Comité International de Dachau (CID), Karl Freller, Director of the Bavarian Memorials Foundation, and Dr Gabriele Hammermann, Director of the Dachau Concentration Camp Memorial, invite you to take part in the commemoration of the 79th anniversary of the liberation of the Dachau concentration camp on Sunday, 5 May 2024.

 

Program

 The day will begin with religious Services of Remembrance:

- at 9:15 am Ecumenical Service of the Catholic, Protestant and Greek Orthodox churches in the Carmelite Holy Blood

 

- at 9:30 am  Russian Orthodox service in the Christ Resurrection Remembrance Chapel.

 

- at 9:45 am  Hour of Commemoration of the State Association of Israelite Religious Communities in Bavaria in front of the Jewish Memorial

 

- at 10:45 am. Commemoration at the Former Crematorium

 

  •  Words of Remembrance at the former Crematorium
  •  Procession through to the former roll call area

 

- at 11.30 Central Commemorative Ceremony on the former roll call square.

 

  • Opening Speech Dr. Gabriele Hammermann, Director of the Dachau Concentration Camp Memorial Site
  • Greeting Karl Freller, MdL, Director of the Bavarian Memorial Foundation
  • Speech Anna Stolz, Bavarian State Minister of Education and Culture
